The thoughts about moving has been popping in and out of the heads of our children. Tonight, as Abby saw us moving furniture out of the basement, you could see the thought creep into her head. Much more lethargic than usual, she was just sort of "there". She listed off everyone that she is going to miss, which was pretty much everyone she has ever met. Thankfully, she didn't mention anyone in our household family. So that means she understands that we're going together.

As we plan out each day, making sure we don't miss a step, things begin to pop up that we had never thought of before. Of course, we are beginning to learn more and more how to trust the L*rd in everything, not simply the things we want to trust Him with.

Hurray!!!!!!!

G*d is good all the time! And, all the time, G*d is good! Thursday, at approx. noon, we signed the contract on our house. The buyer is pre-approved. He has until Sunday, April 26 to complete the inspection and we close on May 14th. We're excited about all of the changes. We do have a some specific prayer requests, though. Please pr*y that 1) the inspection goes well (We don't foresee any complications.), 2) we get things packed in a timely fashion and sell/give away what we need to, 3) we don't get so caught up in the transition that we "leave our children behind" (It's so easy to forget our primary m!nistry!). We do appreciate your continued pr*yer support!

Almost there

Tomorrow, at 11:30am, we're signing the contract on our house. I have been extremely impressed with our realtor, Scott Vulgamott. He's been very professional, patient and prepared. When we received our offer last week, the other realtor was unaware of the program for first-time home owners that offered a significant amount of cash available. After checking into this program, the buyers were able to feel comfortable with the counter-offer that we had made last week. Valerie and I are now beginning to make lists of what to keep, sell and give away. Please pr*y that we are wise in our decision making processes. Please also pray for our children. Abby is struggling right now; she did not want to sell our house. It's the only home she's ever known. Please pr*y that we won't get caught up with all of the preparatory items so much that we neglet our children's feelings.

Someone once said...

Someone told Valerie and I recently that God is in the habit of doing things just before it's too late. We are hoping that proves true in this case. As of today, we have six days left to sign a contract on our house. The new policy, put in place last July, requires candidates to have houses sold a month prior to attending Appointment week. For us, that date is April 20th. The showing from last week (Lucky 13) left us with an offer, though much too low for us to accept. We countered with an offer that was the best we could do to accommodate. Our realtor reminded the buyers' realtor about the program available to first-time home owners. Hopefully, this helps them sufficiently. We are supposed to hear back from their realtor either tomorrow or Thursday. Please pr*y with us that G*d will answer our pr*yers and provide in this opportunity.

Lucky 13?

Tonight, we had our 13th showing. At least we're getting a lot of looks. Surely, one of these fish might bite! We found out that one couple who was about to make an offer made an offer on a friend's house. We're excited for our friends, but are still pr*ying that the L*rd will send someone our way. We covet your pr*yers and thank you for your support to this point!

Nightly News

It's getting pretty late (for us). As we're preparing this website we're thinking about all of you who have supported us throughout the years. We appreciate your pr*yers for our family. You have been a true blessing to us. As of this point, we're still praying that G*d would bring us a buyer. We've had no offers on our house, though we've had 12 showings. We have 12 days left. If the house doesn't sell (or we don't have a tentant), then we'll be "pushed back" to the next appointment date. The only real pitfall in that is the time without work/salary. Please pr*y with us that G*d would provide the right person(s) to visit our house. Or, if you simply are aware of any rich philanthropists out there, please send them our way!

The kids are all doing well. Tonight, Valerie was busy hard-boiling eggs for Elizabeth's class's Easter party. The kids enjoyed decorating the extra eggs.

This is the first day of our blog. I hope everyone has little difficulty loading the site. Valerie and I will try to keep this site updated frequently to keep you posted on our progress. As of today, we have two weeks left to sell or rent our house. We're still pr*ying that G*d will move in and provide a buyer! Please continue to pr*y with us!
